Explore. Challenge. Succeed.

The Vancouver Island Summer Camp is based around a variety of outdoor activities, making the most of the natural surroundings and giving the youth an opportunity to use the skills and knowledge they each bring from their scouting experience to share in the summer camp environment. For many youth, the VI Summer Camp is an opportunity to meet with other like-minded youth from all over the Area, and to take part in activities that are often challenging and adventurous.

Each year, the Summer Camp Committee plans a detailed activity program, with a range of activities that encompass all aspects of the scouting program. The activities are structured enough to give each of the youth ample time to take part in the activity, but with flexibility to ensure that everyone has a great experience and the ability to succeed.

We integrate traditional scouting skills in our scout craft activities, making woggles and whistles, using knotwork to create bracelets and ropes, with play activities including swimming and tubing. We challenge the youth through our overnight out trips, with a distance canoe paddle and overnight camp, or a mountain hike and sleeping underneath the stars!

Our goal is to provide a safe, fun environment where the youth can share their skills and experiences with Scouts from across the region.
