Every year all campers get to experience the wilderness in one of our overnight trips. We take small groups of campers to a different wilderness location, including a mountain top, a remote beach and deep underground.
Mountain HikeThe mountain hike takes you high above Camp Woodlands to the summit of Bald Mountain. Leaving late in the afternoon as the summer weather cools, you hike for approximately 5km to the summit of the mountain carrying your bedding roll and food. The youth and counselors sleep, exposed on the mountain top underneath a clear sky full of stars. If you are lucky, you will wake up above a temperature inversion, above the clouds that typically shroud the lake in the early morning. |

Canoe TripIf you love being on the water then this trip is for you. You travel in a small group along the edge of Lake Cowichan to a remote beach where you build your own sleeping area and shelter and sleep on the beach under the stars. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore and awake to the sounds of birds and wildlife. |

Caving TripJoin a group of campers as we head to a remote location near Lake Cowichan to a group of caves, just right for beginners. We will explore three or four caves during the afternoon, and spend the night sleeping in the cave entrance to one of the larger caves. This is a great introduction to caving and a once-in-a-lifetime experience! |
